ASTI FAROS – Festival of Light, Art, Nature & Heritage of Hvar
Asti Faros is a cultural and musical festival launched in 2025 with a mission to preserve and promote the unique value of the Stari Grad Plain – a living UNESCO landscape and one of the most important archaeological and cultural sites of the Mediterranean.
At the moment of sunset, where vineyards, dry-stone walls and the millennia-old heritage of the ancient Faros colony meet, the festival celebrates the union of humanity and nature, art and history — set upon an untouched archaeological site that has safeguarded the spirit and traditions of the local community for generations.
The founder and artistic director of the festival is soprano Antonella Malis, who, through performances of the most beautiful classical and crossover works, connects high-level musical artistry with the authentic identity of the island of Hvar. The program features distinguished musicians, guardians of the island’s musical heritage, young talents and artists who evoke the history and essence of the Stari Grad Plain through performance and visual expression.
A Festival Of Awareness – Ecology, Light & Legacy
Asti Faros advocates ecological responsibility — encouraging the preservation of the landscape, agriculture and cultural heritage that has shone through millennia and must be protected for the generations to come.
The motif of light, a symbol of Hvar, runs throughout the entire program: the light of nature, of people, of art and heritage — as a source of inspiration and a call to reconnect with the history and environment that shape us.
The audience does not experience just a concert — but a ritual of light and culture, where music becomes a bridge between tradition and modern creativity, offering a shared space for inspiration and unity.
Asti Faros continues to grow as a cultural symbol of Hvar — a festival that protects, connects and celebrates what is most precious: nature, humanity, and a heritage that shines across generations.
